It is extremely unethical to transact in fetal pigs who have no say but to meet a heartbreaking death (not to mention for the mother pig). I am a physician and was a biology major. I learned nothing from such cruelty other than that these fields still have major ethics issues, and it’s extremely concerning land unacceptable. It did not contribute to my education and it didn’t make me a better physician , professor, or scientist. I don’t understand why people don’t question this, and why this measly amount of money is the “value” placed on this poor sentient being’s life. It doesn’t make cruelty “morally acceptable” just because of a meager payment. Would anyone take issue if there were a dog? Why is this allowed? There is no legitimate medical training use for this. No proven beneficial outcome. There are other ways to learn anatomy more ethically; and the evidence states that alternative methods are not inferior.
