Excellent Fish Specimen

This was the first time I had ever ordered anything from Biology Products. I usually get specimen from Carolina Biological, but they have tightened restrictions on where they will send them making it less convenient for us (home school coop) to get supplies. Because if this, I was willing to try another source. Usually when I get fish, they are rather dried up females whose ovaries are so full of eggs that most of the organs are compressed and located up around the head region. This makes it more difficult for students to identify structures. The fish specimen I received from Biology Products were far fresher and more moist than anything I have ever gotten before. While there were females with ovaries containing roe among the specimen, the ovaries were not over-sized and distended. For once fish anatomy diagrams actually matched what students were seeing in the specimen so dissections went much better than usual. I will reorder from Biology Products next year!
